    • Bowl for Kids
On February 27, 2010 officers from the Smiths Falls Police Service participated in the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids. Our team raised nearly $400 and the event was a great success with over 700 participants helping to raise over $68000.

    • Fund Raising Award
Constable Klassen of the Smiths Falls Police Service along with Auxiliary Staff Sergeant Andrew Burdett of Peterborough/Lakefield Police Service accept the Zone 3 award for top fundraiser. Their team collectively raised $73,000.00 last year for Special Olympics events such as the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

    • Distracted Driver Law
The Smiths Falls Police Service would like to remind motorists that as of February 1, 2010 the education period for Bill 118 (Distracted driving legislation) has ended. Motorists driving and operating handheld devices will now be charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act as appropriate. Learn more at the Ministry of Transportation website. You can also hear what Rick Mercer has to say about driving distracted.
